Car oil change history tracking and nearby shop finder — a complete vehicle oil management platform built for Android, iOS, and web using Native Java, Laravel, and Firebase.
Car owners routinely lose track of when their last oil change was, which grade of oil was used, and where the nearest reliable service shop is. KIXX was conceived to solve both problems in a single, intuitive platform — a personal vehicle maintenance companion and a local shop discovery tool, all in one.
The business also needed a web portal for shop owners and administrators to manage listings, service records, and customer interactions. The solution had to work seamlessly across Android, iOS, and the web — with consistent data synced in real time across all three surfaces.
We built the Android app natively in Java to ensure peak performance and deep OS integration — critical for GPS-based shop discovery and background service reminders. The iOS app was engineered in parallel, sharing the same Firebase backend so both platforms stay in perfect sync.
The web portal was built on the LAMP stack with a Laravel backend, giving shop owners and administrators a clean management interface for listings, service records, and customer history. Firebase handles real-time data sync across all three surfaces, so changes made on the web portal appear instantly on the mobile apps and vice versa. Bootstrap was used to keep the web UI clean, responsive, and maintainable.
